Professor Hamish Simpson is Professor of Orthopaedics and Trauma, and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in limb reconstruction, musculoskeletal infection and paediatric deformity. He is an elected BOA council member. He has Chaired the Scottish Committee for Orthopaedics and Trauma and was the founding chair of the T+O Scottish Training Improvement Group. He has been President of Combined Services Orthopaedic Society, the British Limb Reconstruction Society, the Association of Professors of Orthopaedic Surgery, and of the British Orthopaedic Research Society.
He runs a musculoskeletal research unit and has a research interest in stem cells for musculoskeletal repair, musculoskeletal infection, novel cutting methodologies and impaired bone healing.Have a look at the other keynote lecturers
